Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is the disease that affects the joints. It can develop at any age, but the typical onset of the condition occurs after 55 years of age. More than 50 per cent of premature deaths in people with rheumatoid arthritis result from cardiovascular disease, according to a 2011 review of 24 mortality studies published in Nature Reviews Rheumatology. So it is crucial to keep ourselves healthy and fit to prevent heart diseases. Here are some ways by which an RA patient can reduce the risk of heart disease.

  • Have a heart-healthy diet
