What is slipped disc?

In a condition like slipped disc, one of the discs lying between two bones of the spine is damaged. The soft cushioning tissue bulge out and presses the nearby nerve. Hence causing severe back pain. The back pain spreads to the buttocks and legs. The patient also experiences numbness and muscle weakness.
