Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a disorder, in which the layer lining the inside of the uterus, is found to line the organs outside the uterus. About 25% of the women do not experience any symptoms of pelvic pain. This condition is mostly observed in the women between, the age group of 30-40 years. Endometriosis can cause pain, especially during your period. It also affects your fertility.

What are the symptoms of Endometriosis?

Endometriosis is sometimes mistaken for other conditions that can cause pelvic pain, such as pelvic inflammatory disease, irritable bowel syndrome or ovarian cysts.

What are the complications of Endometriosis?
  • The main complication of endometriosis is impaired fertility.
  • Ovarian cancer does occur at higher than expected rates in women with endometriosis.
