How is CT-Scan Performed?

Before the scan, your doctor will give you a special dye that will ensure that the X-ray images will be seen better. Depending on the location of the body for a CT scan, you will be asked to consume the liquid (it is safe). For the scan, you will have to change into a hospital gown and remove any metal items you may have worn. You will lie on the table that slides into a CT scanner. During the time inside, the X-rays images will be presented on the screen of the radiologists that helps them see the insides clear. 

What are the risks of CT Scan?

Although there aren’t several risks involved, some people experience an allergic reaction to the contrast material as it contains iodine. Therefore, if you are allergic to iodine, it is important that you talk to your doctor about it. Pregnant women and children must also avoid CT scans.

MRI Scan

What is an MRI Scan?

MRI scan is used to diagnose particular disorders using a strong magnetic field and radio waves. It is a non-invasive and painless procedure. With the help of this scan, your doctor will be able to see detailed cross-sectional images of the internal organs and structures. The uses of MRI scans include;

  • Problems of the brain and spinal cord
