Preparing for Adenoidectomy

During the procedure

Then the adenoids are removed and the cut is sealed by cauterizing the wound with heat. 

After the procedure

The patient is kept under observation till the effects of the anesthesia wear off. The doctor will prescribe pain medication to help reduce the pain. You can go home on the same day. Once you are at home, you will have to eat light and cool food for a few weeks. Your doctor will advise you to drink lots of water. Swelling after the surgery is normal; you can apply an ice pack to help reduce the swelling.

How long does it take to recover from the surgery?
